# Introducing Stacks Swap

Learn how Stacks Swap compares routes across Stacks DEXes to deliver the best available output in one atomic transaction.

Zest Protocol Stacks Swap is the ultimate swap experience for the Stacks ecosystem.

It compares prices across supported DEXes and executes each swap through the route offering the best available output. Routes can use multiple pools, DEXes and intermediate tokens while settling in one atomic transaction.

## Key Features

**Best Price Across Stacks DeFi**

Stacks Swap compares hundreds of liquidity pools across Bitflow, Velar, ALEX and Arkadiko.

For stSTX and stSTXbtc, routes can also use direct protocol conversions through Stacking DAO. Every quote compares the available routes and selects the one offering the best output for the trade.

**Smart Order Routing**

Large swaps are not limited to one pool. The router can split a trade across multiple pools and DEXes when that produces a better result.

It can also route through intermediate tokens when no direct pool offers the best available output. The complete route executes within one transaction.

**Atomic execution**

Every swap executes as one atomic Stacks transaction.

Either the complete route succeeds and the user receives at least the specified minimum, or the transaction reverts and the tokens remain in the user’s wallet.

**Non-Custodial by Design**

Stacks Swap does not hold user funds between transactions.

Tokens move from the user’s wallet, through the selected liquidity pools and back to the wallet within the same transaction. There are no deposits, account balances or later withdrawals.

**On-Chain Price Protection**

Before confirming a transaction, the wallet displays a minimum-received amount. The Stacks transaction enforces that minimum through its post conditions.

If the route cannot deliver at least the specified amount, the transaction reverts instead of completing at a worse price.

## Built by Zest Protocol

Stacks Swap is part of Zest Protocol’s product suite on Stacks.

The Zest Protocol team has built on Bitcoin since 2021. The team also operates Stacks Market, a Bitcoin credit market with more than two years of mainnet history and $100M+ peak TVL.
